Average people tend to misunderstand the way cruise industry functions. There are negative opinions and also few with harsh experiences. It is not that everyone has got only negative opinions about this industry, but most people either adore it or they hate it. There are hardly any people with an in between opinion about Cruises.
CEO of Royal Caribbean, Richard Fain is of the opinion that it is hard to convince any person about taking a cruise. It is only after they have heard about some good experiences from their neighbors or close relatives, would anyone consider going for cruise. This is the reason that only about 17 percent of the Americans ever cruise. According to survey carried over Americans in 2010, it was revealed that only 10 million ever cruised. 35 percent of them sailed for the first time. This is a proof enough that the cruise market had only 3.5 million conversations. However, different studies have also proved that the first time cruisers often come back to get their experiences revisited. Most become quite passionate about the whole experience.
Just recently, Celebrity Silhouette sailed the sea. It is the fourth most highly rated Solstice Class of ships. It is built by Celebrity Cruises and also owned by Royal Caribbean, whose CEO is Richard Fain. The ship is not only the most beautiful class of ship but it has been expected to become quite well accepted amongst people. This is the reason Royal Caribbean International has built 5 such ships with the same floor plans.
Dan Hanrahan, president of Celebrity added in his recent interview that cruise prices are never kept very high. Raising the price never gets them the same sort craze from the people as they get with lower prices. This is the reason that it is harder for the cruise line and they have to depend for the revenue on fares collected from the casinos, specialty restaurants, shops, drinks, etc. About 25 percent of the income comes from on board revenues.
Celebrity Solstice Class means large space and a ride that behold the pretty experience of the Sea. The cabins at this ship are not average but they are built in the price frame similar to what the average people can afford. Till date, there is four such ships currently in service and one is on the way and still under construction. The classes of the ships are named after the initial vessel in the series. For example, Celebrity Solstice was commenced in November 2008 while Celebrity Equinox was instated in February of 2009. This was followed with another ship in the April of 2010 named as Eclipse. The fifth ship which is in the line will be named as Celebrity Reflection. It is expected to be inaugurated in November of 2012.
Profits from cruising business are never in similar patterns. There can be unexpected way in which it can turn haywire. For example the fuel costs sometime put pressure over the fares. Few of the times it is the currency conversion. This is the reason that it has been decided to shift Celebrity Solstice to Australia, where the value of the Aussie dollar has gone up from 60 cents to about $1.09. If Solstice fair well, then it will be joined by the other cruise liners in line.
