What You Need to Get a Good Business Name

With a great name for your business, you can get started with a great brand. It needs to be a memorable one and create a good feeling when it is heard. Here are a few quick steps using which you can get started:

You need a few hours to get started with the program. The first thing to do is brainstorming when you want people to react in a certain way when they get to hear the name. You can write down the words on paper and categorize them on the basis of their primary meaning. After that, get started with the task of relation. Choose the related words and phrases which evoke the feelings you are looking at. Check out with thesaurus and locate the synonyms for the words and phrases.

You can relate more by finding out the Greek and Latin translations of the names and tally them with the gemstones, plants, animals and colors which relate to your words. You can experiment with combinations of different words or partial words and prepare a list instead of being judgmental about it. Reflect and review your list and offer thought to each of the names. Check with the available domain names. You might want to make sure that there is a right domain name available for your business. If the name of the company is not available, you might want to give it a second thought. Look around the internet and if anyone does not have a domain of their own, they have opted for what other names are on offer and then relate it to their business and context. With the different kinds of company names which are available, you might check with the Secretary of State of the respective state where you are planning to incorporate it.

Are there any of the assumed names? If you want to be a sole proprietor, you need to check for the locally assumed names and these are called the DBA. Check with the County Clerk of the US. You need to pout a stake on your claim and for that you have to register with your assumed name or file the incorporation papers immediately. Start using trademark TM or service mark SM as you do not need to register with them for using them.
